AS Roma yet to meet Augsburg's demands over Baba Rahman

Contrary to reports in Italy, AS Roma’s five-year contract worth £30,000-a-week for Baba Rahman has not been accepted by Augsburg.

The deal means the Giallorossi have offered Rahman annual wages €400,000 higher than Chelsea but neither clubs have met the demands of the Bundesliga club.

There are suggestions that Baba Rahman’s price tag was at least €20 million, but now Augsburg are asking for €25 million to release the player.

Roma feel they are in a good position to beat Chelsea to his signature, especially as they are looking to make him their first choice left back whereas the Premier League champions already have Cesar Azpilicueta in that role.

Rahman, who turned 21 this week, had a successful campaign last season where he helped Augsburg to qualify for the Europa League.
