AVB planning Atsu approach

Sky Sports understands that Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is planning to raid former employers Porto for Christian Atsu.

The 20-year-old winger joined the first-team ranks at Estadio do Dragao during Villas-Boas' reign.

He is yet to make the breakthrough into the senior side, but impressed during a loan spell at Rio Ave in 2011/12.

A number of eye-catching displays suggest he is capable of turning out on a grander stage. Potential

Porto have always been aware of his talent and are delighted to see him fulfilling his potential.

They hope he will continue to flourish in Portugal, with it their intention to tie the youngster down on fresh terms.

The Ghana international is, however, drawing plenty of admiring glances from afar.

Liverpool and Everton have been strongly linked with an approach in the recent past and Tottenham have now entered the race to take Atsu to the Premier League.
