Veteran Ghanaian gaffer, JE Sarpong has attributed Black Queens failure in the just ended 2018 African Women’s Championship to the Local Organizing Committee.
Ghana’s hopes of hosting and winning the competition was left in the dark after the Queens failed to qualify to the next round of the competition.
After three matches played, Bashir Hayford and his ladies finished at the 3rd position with four points.
However, the former Asante Kotoko and Ebusua Dwarfs trainer believe the lack of unity among the Local Organizing Committee contributed to the team’s failure.
“How many of them identified themselves with the public, we never saw them, yet there were experienced men among them who could have helped.
“However, they left everything on Freda Prempeh, making her to do everything, including becoming the PRO of the LOC which didn’t help, and it affected the performance of the entire team”, he said.
Nigeria defeated South Africa 4:3 on penalties on Saturday, December 1 to lift the trophy at the Cape Coast Stadium.
