The Black Satellites of Ghana ended their African Youth Championship campaign on a high note after beating Mali 3-1 in the third place game to win bronze.
Two goals from Yaw Yeboah and another from Clifford Aboagye ensured the Satellites finished the competition on a high note after their defeat to Nigeria in the semi-finals.
Ghana’s victory over Senegal means they finished 3rd in the African Championship and have thus been drawn in Group B at the FIFA U-20 World Championship.
Group B looks easy on paper for the Satellites but even with that, they have to deal with the threat of Argentina as well as Austria and Panama.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign with a game against Austria on Saturday, May 30 in the city of Wellington.
The Satellites will play their second game against Argentina on Tuesday, June 2 before rounding off the Group stages with a game against Panama in Auckland on Friday, June 5.
