Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Abass Mohammed is expected to be out of action for at least eight months after tearing the ligaments in his knee at training.
Footballmadeinghana.com can reveal that the towering striker suffered a serious tackle from a colleague at training grounds on Monday and had to leave the field with the help of the Kotoko medical team.
An examination by the medical team of the Porcupine Warriors revealed that he has damaged the ligaments in his knee and he is expected to have surgery either at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital or in South Africa the coming week.
The injury to Abass could force Kotoko into the market as they seek another striker to act as cover up for Sadick Adams and Frederick Boateng.
