Former Northern Regional Football Association Chairman Abdulai Alhassan has apologized to Kwesi Nyantakyi for leading fake investors to him which led to him being captured on video receiving cash gifts.

Kwesi Nyantakyi resigned as President of Ghana Football Association after the scandal that has hit the country's most loved sport following an undercover investigation by journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas.

The former FA President went into business with people he describes as "scammers" after Abdulai Alhassan had introduced them to Kwesi Nyantakyi as they seek to find sponsors for the Premier League.

Little to their knowledge, the business men were undercover journalist working with Anas to uncover corruption at the Association.

Following the Premiere of number 12, which revealed the role of the erstwhile Northern Regional FA Chairman's role in the entire fiasco, the youngest former Exco-member rendered an unqualified apology to Nyantakyi.

"I hereby render an unqualified apology to my family, friends and the people I was elected to serve and the country at large."

I also sincerely apologise to Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and all his sympathisers for being the person who led the supposed investors to him" he stated in his letter of resignation.

Abdullai is a former professional player who plied his trade in Holland and Belgium for six years. He retired in 31 and came back to Ghana to form Tamale Utrecht and to contest the region’s FA top job.

He won the election in 2015 and that put him on the GFA’s Executive Committee.
