Abedi Causes Kuffour's Exit -Nigerian paper

The sudden departure of Bayern Munich star and Ghanaian defender, Samuel Kuffour, back to his club in Germany, P.M.Sport can reveal was as a result of what the player described as the overbearing attitude of Black Stars of Ghana football legend, Abedi Pele.

P.M.Sport investigations reveal that Kuffour, who was miffed by the exclusion of his close friend and team captain, Charles Akunnor, took serious exception to what he said was the high-handed attitude of Abedi Pele in matters affecting the players.

Kuffour, who had declined to take over the captainship of the team, did not hide his displeasure at the development which saw team coach, Osam Doudu losing control of the team.

Things reportedly got to a head after the match against Morocco's Altas Lions where the player engaged team officials in a hot exchange of words.

Kuffour, in anger, snatched his passport from team officials and walked out on the team.

In a chat with P.M.Sport, coach Osam Doudu said he was totally confused by recent developments with the team and hoped sanity would prevail before the Black Stars' next match against South Africa today.

Indeed, the confusion in the Black Stars camp was evident on Monday when they played the Atlas Lions of Morocco. FA boss, Ben Kofi, was on the sidelines dishing out instructions to the players while coach Doudu sat meekly on the bench.
