Abedi to make case for Kingston

With earlier news that Ghana?s midfielder Laryea Kingston will not be able to participate in this year?s FIFA World Cup following his four-match ban during the MTN Nations Cup IN Egypt, several concerns ha! ve been raised with the majority of the view that the GFA should intervene on behalf of the player considering the sacrifices he has made in the build up to the World Cup finals.

In a latest move, Ghana?s football legend Abedi Ayew Pele says he is determined to lead the crusade to get the player to feature for Ghana in June. The maestro says he is prepared to personally meet FIFA President Sepp Blatter to impress of the Football boss to rescind his decision.

FIFA rules states that suspensions not completed at a continental tournament will be served according to Article 39(2F) of Fifa's disciplinary code. The rule states that: "Match suspensions in relation to the expulsion of a player outside of a competition or not served during the competition for which they were intended are carried over as follows: "Confederation competitions for competitive teams: carried over to the to the representative team's subsequent official match in a competition organised by Fifa."

Kingston began serving the four-match suspension during the Black Stars final group game against Zimbabwe, which they lost 2-1. The midfielder, who plays for Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow, was sent off in the Black Stars 1-0 victory over Senegal in the African Nations Cup in January after a bust-up with Senegal's Habib Beye.
