King Faisal star, Godwin Ablordey will be out of action for three weeks following the discovery by South African doctors that he has a fracture in his lower foot.
Ablordey who arrived in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning for checks on what appeared to be a nagging foot injury was diagnosed with a foot fracture after doctors at the Family Chiropractic Centre had taken him through a series of X-ray scans to determine what was really wrong.
Doctor Rossel Potgieter, head of the team of doctors told the Soccer Express yesterday that his outfit had already started applying a new technology to heal the fracture but Ablordey will have to stay in South Africa till late next week to undergo treatment, meaning he will miss the first two matches of round two of the league and perhaps more.
When Soccer Express spoke to Ablordey at his hotel yesterday he was sorry he could not join his colleagues this weekend but was equally happy that he will return home healed and fitter than he left Ghana.
Ablordey has been instrumental in King Faisal’s success story having joined the Nokia Boys from Kotoko a few months ago. When skipper Mohammed Hamza was bereaved recently he ably led the team to a string of successes that included a 5-2 drubbing of Goldfields and 2-0 victories over Power FC and Great Olympics respectively.
