Accam’s brace inspires Helsingborg win

Ghana attacker David Accam returned from suspension to score a double for Helsingborg and lifted them to a 3-1 win over struggling Brommapojkarna in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Wednesday night.

The ‘King’ David raced the Reds into the lead in the 4th minute before converting from the spot two minutes into the second-half.

Accam, 23, walked into Roar Hansen’s starting eleven after returning from suspension and missing the weekend stalemate at Malmo FF.

And, he justified why his presence counts for the former champions by netting a double.

Accam’s brace has increased his league tally to 16 league goals and should have shot up back up the top-scorer chart but IFK Göteborg’s Lasse Vibe hit a hat-trick to leapfrog the Ghana international with 19 goals.

Accam’s opening goal was a true hallmark of his greatness as he intelligently latched onto a pass from and clinically finished off the move by slotting beyond the visitors keeper.

Two minutes into the second-half, he doubled the advantage by powerfully converting a penalty in the two minutes into the second-half.
