The Accra Polo Club grounds will be the centre of attraction come this Saturday March 10 when the annual Independence Cup tournament returns.
Vodafone Ghana will take on Virgin Atlantic as the highlight of the annual Ghana versus UK polo tournament which has taken place since the country gained independence in 1957.
This 55th edition is powered by Vodafone and Virgin Atlantic under the auspices of the Accra Polo Club. The UK side have triumphed in the apst two years but Harold Awuah-Darko, Captain of the Accra Polo Club who is expected to lead the Vodafone Ghana team has indicated their dtermination to rev4erse the trend this year.
“”We are working very hard to this year but it’s the field that will determine. You can’t be confident that you are going to win till then,” Mr. Awuah Darko said in an exclusive interview.
Sam Instone (-1), Benjamin Davis (+1), Peter Webb (+%) and Alexander Ventures (+1) are expected to play for Tema Virgin Atlantic UK.
