The sports ministry says the proposed renovation of the Accra Stadium this month has been put on hold after petitions from stakeholders to allow the Ghana Premier League season to end before the project begins.
Sports minister Isaac Asiamah, had earlier announced that the edifice will undergo major face lift this month.But Ghana premier league stakeholders including the GFA and GHALCA have pleaded for the league season to end in September.
Speaking to Starr sports, the spokes person for the ministry Elvis Adjei Baah insists they have agreed to their proposal but some portions will be closed to the public .
“It’s true we met with the varoius stakeholders and have agreed to their proposal but in order to protect life and property and for our own safety to avoid any disaster, we have decided that that the VIP, VVIP area and the media stand has been closed down to the public”he told Starr Sports
