Accra Technical University (ATU) Male Basketball Team hasn’t said much about their title aspirations regarding the upcoming Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

However, the team made its title ambitions clear with actions by delivering a 38-25 win over Takoradi Technical University (TTU) to win this year’s Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games.

ATU had a straightforward win over its GHATUSA arch rival bar a frustrating third quarter performance leading 20-8 at the end of the first half.

Accra’s confidence is high heading to the start of Ghana’s biggest Tertiary basketball competition later this month. The tournament is scheduled to end in April.

ATU has won the UPAC on two occasions-2011 and 2015- but has missed out on a third title following two finals losses in 2016 and 2018 to University of Ghana (UG).

The multiple GHATUSA Champions strolled through the just ended competition earning big wins in the process including a 94-8 win over Bolgatanga Polytechnic.

ATU also scored a 29-20 win over STU in the semifinals.
