Adam Kwarasey is suspect- Carr

Legendry Ghana goalkeeper Joe Carr claims Black Stars first choice keeper Adam Kwarasey has lost confidence but insists he must be maintained.

The Stromsgodset shot-stopper, 25, allowed in two easy goals in the first half and was replaced by Daniel Agyei in Ghana’s 4-2 win over Tunisia in a warm-up game in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Carr is sure Kwarasey has lost his confidence.

“He has obviously lost his confidence and that was evident in the game against Tunisia,” he told Peace FM.

Though AshGold shot-stopper Fataw Dauda put in a solid performance in the 3-0 win over Egypt last week, the former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper who made four Nations Cup appearances insists Kwarasey must be maintained as first choice goalkeeper.

“The psychologist in the team must try and talk to him and psyche him well and let him know he still remains the first choice goalkeeper. He was at the last AFCON and his experience would be crucial to the team,” he added

The Norwegian born was a bit jittery on his debut AFCON appearance in the 2012 Gabon and Equatorial Guinea campaign.
