Former Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams has denied reports of agreeing on a two-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old parted ways with the Porcupine Warriors in January after rejecting a contract extension and later had a two-week trial with Swiss side FC Aarau.

However, he could not impress the club's top hierarchy to win a contract and has returned to Ghana.

“It’s not true that I have signed a two-year contract with Kotoko," Adams told Oyerepa FM.

"To be frank, there has not been any official approach from Kotoko's management team so I'm even surprised that people are circulating such reports. If the club needs my services again, they should come forward.

“However, the decision to either join them again or not can't solely be determined by myself. My family and agent have a say in every direction I want to move in my career,” he added.

Adams, who is the senior brother to Ghana and TSG Hoffenheim defender Kasim Nuhu Adams, was part of the Kotoko squad that defeated rivals Hearts of Oak to win the FA Cup title last season.
