Passionate as he is about the development of football, the CEO of Databank Kojo Addae-Mensah blasted Ghana’s Sports Minister over his attempt to secure bus subsidies for clubs insisting government must develop infrastructure instead.
The Sports Minister in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Kasapa FM a week ago disclosed that his outfit will be leading the way by assisting the clubs to buy quality buses at discounted amounts while those without money will be subsidized to use STCs to travel for their matches.
But the astute financial guru says the minister’s attempt is much ado about nothing since the buses will still be plying the poor roads and the game can’t thrive on bad pitches and stadia.
“The state’s responsibility must be infrastructure development, not to subsidize buses for clubs and not an adhoc subsidy for transportation for league games,” he blasted on the Football Legends Night Show on GhOne TV on Friday night.
