Addo unhappy with Hearts despite big win

Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo does not believe his side is a Cup-winning team yet despite gallantly beating champions Asante Kotoko.

With their early season defensive struggles, Hearts managed to take an 8th minute lead through striker Selasi Adjei, held their own against the much more experienced Kotoko side to break a 7-game run in which they had failed to win against their arch-rivals.

“I think the boys are getting used to each other. If you can see my boys, they are new and old and they are blending in gradually.”

“We have a lot of players; they are jelling and beginning to understand the tactics of the game. I want to take things and win match after match,” coach Addo, who has also previously coached Asante Kotoko said.

“This team, I personally do not think they are a cup winning team yet, but hopefully, they will be by the end of the year,” he confessed.

Hearts and Kotoko are now joint with eight points and only separated on goal difference after six match-days in the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League.
