Arsenal striker Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor will arrive in Ghana on Tuesday afternoon to begin his tour of West Africa.

The 2007 BBC African Footballer of the Year will travel to Kumasi on Wednesday to organise a football clinic for kids in Ghana's second largest city.

He will also play in an U-15 game for the kids before paying a courtesy visit to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the king of the Ashantis, at his palace later in the day

During his visit to the Manhyia Palace, Adebayor will unveil his plans to support the educational fund set up by the King of the Ashantis for needy students.

The Togo captain had promised to use his position the winner of the BBC award to cause positive change for the needy across the continent.

"I am ready and keen to begin this tour. I have been a needy person before and I can't wait to bring hope to the kids," Adebayor said.

The striker will continue his Ghana trip with a BBC press conference in Accra on Thursday.

He will return to his home country next week Tuesday to receive the award at a ceremony in Lome before paying a courtesy visit on Togo president Faure Gansingbe

Adebayor won the BBC 2007 African Football of Year Award after voting by fans of the game late last year because of his performance for Arsenal and Togo.

He will complete his tour in Nigeria, the birth place of his parents, later this month and also play in the Jay Jay Okocha testimonial match.

The tour has been put together by Z Sports International, the image rights holders for the Arsenal player in Africa.

Z Sports International is led by Fousseana Djabga, as astute football consultant, who has been credited for creating several successful football related activities including turning dour Caf African Football of the Year Award into an attractive event.

The company has also been given the rights to organise the Jay Jay Okocha Testimonial game in the Nigerian city of Warri on 26 June.
