Adisadel College break Pole Vault record

Cape Coast, Feb. 25, GNA - Enoch Alarbi Mensah of Adisadel College made a jump of 3.25 metres to break the Pole Vault record of 3.22 metres. The only record was broken at the Central Region Zone One Inter Schools and Colleges Athletic competitions held at the Adisadel School Park on Friday.
Adisadel College recorded 186 points to lift the championship trophy. Christ the King Academy came second with 87 points followed by Komenda Secondary Technical at third position with 82 points while Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School came fourth with 69 points. Cape Coast Ghana National College took the fifth position with 60 points while Commercial Service Institute (C.I.S) came sixth with 44 points followed by Edinaman Secondary at seventh position with 38 points, Aburaman Secondary eighth with 25 points while Edinaman Eguafo Secondary came last with nine points.
In the girls division, Edinaman Secondary came first with 147 points followed by Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary with 79 points while Saltpond Mfantseman Secondary came third with 74 points.
Christ the King Academy and Aburaman Secondary Schools jointly took the fourth position with 53 points each.
Komenda Secondary Technical came sixth with 33 points, Ghana National College seventh with 32 points and Edinaman Eguafo Secondary at eighth position with 26 points while Commercial Service Institute (C.I.S) came last with 16 points.
Nana Prah of Christ the King Academy School was declared the best athlete in the boys division.
He won the Discuss, Shot put and Javelin events. In the girls division, Gifty Acheampong of Edinaman Secondary School was declared the best athlete.
She came first in the 800 metres, 3,000 metres, 1,500 metres and led her school's quartet to win the 4x400 metres Relay race. Prizes and certificates were presented to outstanding athletes. 25 Feb 06
