CONFIDENTIAL information gathered over the weekend by your authoritative 90 Minutes indicates that in their attempts to build a solid and formidable team for next season, Accra Hearts of Oak have targeted some quality players on the local scene to beef up their current squad to make the needed impact. According to our impeccable Hearts source, the names of Dominic Adiyiah of Heart of Lions, goalkeeper Ernest Sowah of Tema Youth and defenders Hanan Gyiwah and Kwame Ajagba of Real Tamale United are all on the tall Hearts summer shopping list of players which they intend to rope into their fold before the commencement of next season.
Our source added that aside of efforts to lure only quality players into the club for next season's Premiership competition, the club also intends to offload about 15 of their current players to maintain a sizeable squad. He said: “The club intends to bring in more quality players for next season because we believe it would be prudent to introduce good players if we want to get the needed results. The playing body is not as strong as we perceived and that is one of the reasons why we failed to glitter this season. We intend not to make such mistakes again that's why we have earmarked these quality players to help us wrestle the championship back from Kotoko” Last Thursday afternoon when 90 Minutes caught up with Dominic Adiyiah at the club's secretariat, he reiterated that though he would appreciate a move to Hearts of Oak, he believes it would depend on the offer Heart of Lions receive. However, a close confidante of the player told 90 Minutes: "If Hearts are ready the player would not hesitate in joining them if they put the right offer on the table. We have met with the Hearts acting CEO and we hope to hear from him soon"
