Adjetey wins Korea Ambassador's Taekwondo Cup

Accra, Oct. 16, GNA - David Adjetey of Madina Taekwondo Club defeated Meizongo Adnan of Rangers Club in the Welter-Weight Division, to win this year's Ghana Taekwodo Association 'Korea Cup' Open Championship held at the D. J. Hathiramani Hall of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday.

Professor Sang-Pal Lee, the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, presented Adjetey, who was also adjudged the 'Best player' of the tournament, with the Korean Ambassador's Cup In the Middle Weight Division, Yakubu Shaibu of Black Warriors Club thrilled the fans with his skilful throws and defences to beat Saint Eugene Omer of Tema Oil Refinery Club, while Latse Adom of Black Warriors ran over Dei Emmanuel of Sesi Club.

Young enterprising Estelle Vroom of Takoradi defeated Charity Tetteh of Rangers Club to win the ladies encounter of the competition, sponsored by the Korean Embassy.

Prof. Lee gave the assurance that the embassy would sponsor the competition in the coming years.
