Paul Adu-Gyamfi, a legal practitioner could be named substantive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko in the ensuing days.
The former President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), a member of the immediate past Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong administration could be elevated to the top position following a meeting at Manhyia last Saturday.
A credible source close to Manhyia told GNA Sports the owner of the club, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II hinted at elevating Adu-Gyamfi to the apex of the board during a meeting with stakeholders and players of Kotoko at his Palace.
The Porcupine Warriors have been without a Board chair since Dr. Sarpong tendered his resignation about a month ago to the Life Patron, a development which has shaken the foundation of the club.
The source said some of the members expected to retain their roles in the new board are Jerry Asare and Alhaji Abu Lamine who have already been tasked to assist Samuel Opoku Nti and his team in the club’s recruitment drive.
According to the source, the Asantehene assured the players of the resettling all outstanding enticement fees while making a pledge to make funds available for four of the seven targeted players.
