Aduana Stars Chief Executive Officer Albert Commey has kicked against a proposal to increase the number of clubs in the Premier League.

The GFA might consider this proposal as a way of ending its long drawn out legal battle with relegated King Faisal.

Faisal is in court to compel the GFA adjudicate on its appeal to be reinstated as a Premier League club after going down at the end of last season.

The annual congress session – a pre-requisite before the start of the new Premier League season – has been delayed as a result.

The proposal to add two more teams to the Ghanaian top flight – which will benefit King Faisal and Ebusua Dwarfs – is therefore considered by many as the best way out of the legal quagmire.

But Aduana CEO Albert Commey says it is recipe for a future disaster.

“It is unfortunate in the sense that we need to make the laws work to the latter in Ghana,” he said.

“We will be setting a wrong precedence so if a club in future gets relegated, all it needs to do is to go to court and force the extension of teams in the Premier League.”
