The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee, has handed a temporary ban on the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, following incidents of crowd violence at the venue.
Premier league side Aduana Stars, whose home venue is the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, would have to play their home matches at a venue to be decided by the GFA in accordance with Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.
In a release signed by Mr. Alex Asante, Deputy General Secretary of the GFA, the ban which takes immediate effect, is a result of an unfortunate incident that occurred during match day two of the ongoing Normalization Special Competition, when Aduana stars hosted Medeama SC on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
According to the release, “the decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations, which states that the GFA may order the closure of any league centre, where the safety of clubs, match officials or spectators cannot be guaranteed.
“We are by a copy of this letter asking the NC Special Competition Committee to determine the venue for Aduana Stars FC’s subsequent home matches in accordance with the provision of Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations”.
It further states that “this order is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the disciplinary committee”.
Meanwhile, the disciplinary committee has been charged to hear the case in accordance with the GFA Regulations.
