Aduana Stars can reach Champions League group stage - Didi Dramani

Former Asante Kotoko coach Didi Dramani believes Aduana Stars have a solid team to take the Caf Champions League by storm next season.

Coach Yussif Abubakar has strengthened his squad after signing Wa All Stars captain Hafiz Adam and Berekum Chelsea left-back Justice Annan to add to Elvis Opoku, Emmanuel Akuoko, Joseph Addo and Stephen Anokye, who have extended their stay.

The Fire Club are making a return to the competition after a seven-year absence and have been paired with Libyan side El Tahadi in the preliminary round.

"To have a successful run in a continental campaign, you need to prepare your team for at least four years and Aduana seem to have reached that height," Dramani told Asempa FM.

"Aduana have prepared very well because they have renewed the contracts of most of their key players in order to keep the team in shape. They are also making some good signings so they can at least reach the group stages.

"It is however not easy when you aim at winning either the Caf Champions League or Confederation Cup because it entails a lot. They should first target the group stages before aiming at the semi-finals and final," he added.

The winner between Aduana and El Tahadi will face either ES Setif (Algeria) or Olympique de Bangui (Central Africa Rep) in the first round.
