Aduana Stars defener Paul Aidoo has refuted reports that he staked bet on their CAF Confederation Cup match against Raja Casablanca on Wednesday.
The Ghana Premier League champions were thrashed 6-0 at the hands of Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the final group game of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
In the aftermath of the match, reports went rife that some players of the club including Paul Aidoo placed a bet on their outfit to lose by six-goal margin.
But the silky guardsman has denied the reports claiming that the result of the match was a reflection of their inactiveness.
"I have never bet in my playing career and how can I do that at the expense of a club that pays and feeds me," Aidoo said on Oyerepa FM.
"We lost because there's no football in Ghana which is making us lack match fitness that's all."
"Another allegation is that our management sold the match, how can such happen."
"We are sorry for what happened but all these accusations are false they are unfounded."
"We just got to Dormaa and I am going straight to the Police Station to file a complaint because I have heard one of our supporters is accusing me of staking bet with this match. It's not true and I have never done this before."
