Head coach of Aduana Stars Yusif Abubakar has sounded a note of warning to his league rivals that his outfit will not relent on their league title ambitions after their 2-1 win over Inter Allies at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday.
The Ogya boys consolidated their lead at the top of the log with victory over Inter Allies courtesy second half strikes from Nathaniel Asamoah and Derrick Sassraku after Isaac Twum’s 47th minute brilliant free kick looked to have handed the league leaders their first defeat in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
In coach Yusif Abubakar’s post match interview, he indicated his side will focus on winning their subsequent matches as they aim to annex this season’s title.
”We have to be consistent with our performance” said coach Abubakur.
”We are happy with the victory. I have followed the records and before the game I was told some some time they’ve not been to beat [Inter Allies] in their away fixture therefore I needed to mount a strategy to break that jinx”.
He continued ”If you watched the first half my boys were complacent and I was mad at them so I gave them some serious talks which they have to wake up and that is exactly what happened in the second half that gave us the victory”.
”We approached the second half with the same mental approach but the mental attitude was different so I made them to understand that they have to be psychological tough and I believe that did the magic for us”.
”We don’t have to be complacent that we are willing the league because for me even if we lead the log after the first round I won’t be swollen headed we will keep fighting til the our last game”.
The win is Aduana Stars first away victory over Inter Allies since 2013 in the Ghanaian top flight league.
Aduana Stars lead the Ghana Premier League pack with 16 points from six matches.
