Stephen Anokye Badu has left former Premier League champions Aduana Stars, Public Relations Officer of the club Evans Kwaku Oppong has confirmed.

The stalwart defender left the Dormaa based side following the expiration of his contract.

Badu joined Aduana Stars from B.A United in 2015 and went on to establish himself as one of the best center backs in the local scene.

His impressive displays has seen him earn call ups to the junior national teams.

Public Relations Officer of Aduana Stars Evans Oppong confirmed the departure of the strong defender in a radio interview with Cape Coast based Radio Station ATL FM.

“It is true that Stephen Anokye Badu has willingly left Aduana Stars after the expiration of his contract,’’ he told ATL FM.

“In fact, we wanted to renew his contract but he insisted that he wants to leave so we had no option than to allow him go and find his replacement’’.

Anokye Badu has not hidden his admiration for record Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko but it is unknown whether his next move will be in Kumasi.
