Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars have been dealt yet another massive blow ahead of their Confederation Cup clash with Moroccan side Raja Casablanca as the entire playing body is battling food poisoning.
Players of the troubled Ghanaian side are said to have eaten kenkey a and jollof carried by the management of the side to Morocco from Ghana.
Several players had sleepless night on Monday as they kept running to the washroom with diarrhea after eating the food on arrival in Morocco.
An insider who spoke to 442gh.com disclosed that some of the players ate jollof rice and shito with others taking kenkey and pepper with shito last night.
The food which was carried there by the Ghanaian side is believed to have over-lived it’s normal duration of existence hence subjecting the players to severe diarrhoea less than 24 hours to the game.
Already, the Ghanaian side has only 11 players without injury, 2 players with serious injuries and 1 player with malaria.
The woes of the side has, therefore, been deepened with agitations about the squad size that traveled to Morocco already.
Head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi had overly complained about the list of just 12 outfield players and two goalkeepers for the trip, and with the squad being hit but food poisoning, the Ghanaian side could face hell against the dreaded Moroccan giants on Wednesday.
Aduana Stars drew 3-3 with Raja Casablanca in the first leg of the game at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa-Ahenkoro.
