Aduana prepared for AS Vita challenge in Caf Confederation Cup - Bright Adjei

Aduana Stars attacker Bright Adjei says the lack of competitive local action will not stop them from claiming their first win of the Caf Confederation Cup group stage on Wednesday.

The Fire Boys are set to host Congolese outfit AS Vita Club on matchday three, having lost their opener against Ivorian side Asec Mimosas before being held to a 3-3 draw by Moroccan club Raja Casablanca at home.

Aduana's preparedness for the midweek fixture, though, remains a concern, having gone over a month without a competitive game due to a standing ban on the Ghana Premier League.

“We have prepared long ago and are ready for any match despite the fact that we are not playing the league,” Adjei told Solid FM.

“We are confident of getting our first win on Wednesday.

“Football is my work and I don’t regret for playing football despite the current happenings in Ghana football.”

Aside from the lack of competitive action, another worry for Aduana has been their recent change of coach.

Just last week, Yusif Abubakar, who guided the side to last season's Premier League title, was swapped for Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

“It [change of coach] is the decision of the club,” Adjei said.

“We the players are professionals and ours is to give our best to the club.

“We are trying to adjust to Kenichi Yatsuhashi's tactics and style very quickly.

“He is different from Yusif Abubakar.”

Aduana currently sit bottom of Group A ahead of Wednesday's showdown.
