First Capital Bank, sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, fulfilled their duty by releasing sponsorship money to the Premier League.
Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars Football Club Albert Commey confirmed that his club has received its share of money released by league sponsors ahead of the start of the second round of matches.
The second installment of funds released is in fulfillment of an agreement between the league sponsor and the Ghana Football Association.
According to Chief Executive Officer of the Dormaa based club the arrival of the money is timely since the club has been reeling under a lot of financial pressure.
“The clubs are faced with a lot of difficulty in terms of salary, administrative over head and other expenditures like transportation," he said.
“The budget is huge but with the second tranche coming in it will serve as a big relief to clubs especially my club, since we are the second most traveled club aside Wa All Stars.
“Like Oliver Twist we will like to ask for more but we are appreciative of what the sponsors are doing," he added.
He did not reveal the specific amount the club received however.
