Former skipper of the senior female national team the Black Queens, Adwoa Bayor has called on the technical directorate of the Ghana Football Association and handlers of the female national teams to use ex-female footballers as scouts for the national teams.

The 2003 Africa Female Footballer of the Year argues that most of the ex-female footballers have experience and have technical knowledge that can make them useful when they are called upon.

She added that there is not proper transitional plan for the female teams which make it difficult for the Black Queens to flourish at international competitions.

She, however, added that if the ex-female footballers are used as scouts, they will employ their knowledge and experience to ensure that players have a good transition into the Black Queens.

“Most of the former female footballers are coaches and technical women. The GFA and the Women’s League Board must employ some of them as scouts for the national teams.

“When they are there, they will use their experience and their psychological understanding of the female footballers to guide them.

“And that will give us the best for all the levels,” she said.

“They will make sure that players are not rushed into the Black Queens at an infant stage,” she added.

Adwoa Bayor was a member of the Black Queens side that qualified for the Women’s World Cup in 1999.
