Ghana defender Harrison Afful has credited Joe Addo for his move to MLS club Columbus Crew.

Afful completed his move to the American club as a free agent after running down his contract with Tunisian side Esperance.

The 29-year-old is looking for a fresh challenge having spent his entire career on the African continent which has landed him success in the CAF Champions League.

The left-back however says Joe Addo, a former MLS star who now works as the Corporate Affairs manager of Hearts of Oak should be thanked for the move as he recommended him to the coach of Columbus Crew.

“I want to give thanks to Joe Addo, former Black Stars player,” Afful said.

“He played with the coach before and he was the one who told him about me.

“He showed the coach some videos of me and he was also interested.”

Afful will be cleared to play once his International Transfer Certificate is received by his new club.
