Ghana defender Harrison Afful has refused a contract extension from Tunisian side Esperance after his deal ran out at the end of last month and has now become a free agent.
Afful could not reach an agreement with the club over a new contract.
The 26-year-old spent six glittering seasons with the Blood and Gold where he won four league titles.
In 2011, it was his solitary goal which won Esperance the CAF Champions League title against Wydad Casablanca in the 1-0 success.
His last game for the Tunis-based side was the 3-0 defeat at Al Ahly in their opening CAF Confederation Cup Group A match.
Afful was close to joining UAE side Al Wahda after the club announced on their official Twitter account.
But the Dubai-based side could not reach financial terms with Esperance.
