Afienya United pip Sportnet

Oblogo (GA), Oct. 11, GNA - Visiting Great Afienya United proved too experienced for home side, Oblogo Sportnet when they beat them 1-0 in their Division One league match at Oblogo on Sunday.

After Ho-based referee, Alphonse Senyo signaled for the start of the match, Afienya launched series of attacks on home team and got the opener in the third minute through Samuel Dadzie.

Sportnet made several attempts after the early goal to find the equalizer but their efforts were not enough to yield the needed results until the end of the first half.

On resumption of the second half, Sportnet piled up more pressure on the Afienya defense to cancel the goal but on several occasions they failed to capitalize on the chances that came their way until the final whistle.

Alhaji Osman Amadu, Chairman of Afienya United after the match told the GNA Sports that the club was determined to qualify to play in the Premier division this year.

He commended the excellent performance exhibited by referee as well as the commitment of his players that ensured their victory in an away match.
