African Cup Of Nations - No Live Transmission

The African Cup of nations is only a few weeks away and there appears to be heightened anticipation among the football fraternity. For the majority of Ghanaians who will not be able to travel to Cairo, Egypt, to watch the tournament, they will be expecting to join thousands of fans throughout the continent through their TV screens. However, it appears this may not be possible as there seem to be some problems surrounding the ability of the nation?s major TV networks to transmit the tournament due to the financial costs involved. It is estimated that about 1million euros hovering around ten billion cedis will be needed to make the transmission possible.

Although the major TV stations are ready to transmit the tournament, they have indicated that they cannot raise the amount of money needed to cover the event. Togo has however completed payments for the transmission of the tournament to their teeming football fans.
