Afriyie Acquah marks Sampdoria debut with defeat

Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah tasted defeat and was cautioned on his debut for Sampdoria as the Blucachiati fell to a 2-1 loss away at Chievo Verona in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who lasted the entire duration of the match in his jersey number 30, was shown a yellow card by referee Sebastiano Peruzzo in the 66th minute for a foul.

The Hoffenheim man played alongside fellow Ghanaian Alfred Duncan, who also enjoyed 90 minutes of action.

Afriyie Acquah spent last season on loan at Parma, where he made 14 appearances.
