Afriyie Acquah wants Muntari back for 2015 AFCON

Parma midfielder Afriyie Acquah wants the immediate return of Sulley Muntari into the Black Stars ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to his ‘invaluable commitment’.

The AC Milan star has been frozen out of the national team following an altercation with a top Ghana FA official during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Muntari attacked Medeama president Moses Armah in an unprovoked manner, which forced the Ghana FA to throw him out of the camp in disgrace.

But the Parma ace, who recently tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend Amanda, says Muntari must not be made to rot.

“We all saw his gallantry in the two matches that he played at the World Cup in Brazil,” he said

“His determination and selflessness was evident. We cannot afford to miss these good qualities in the Black Stars.

“For me, Sulley is one of the most committed Black Stars players you can always count on in very difficult situations.”

Muntari is yet to apologise publicly for his behavior even though his father Alhaji Muniru Sulley has done so on his behalf.
