Italy-based Afriyie Acquah has reiterated his desire to pursue a move in England.

The Torino midfielder has been linked to clubs in the Premier League and the Championship over the years.

During the last transfer window, he came close to sealing a switch to Birmingham City.

“In January, I was moving to Birmingham but later there were a lot of issues, so I couldn’t move,” Acquah told Ghanaweb.

“My dream is to play in England, so always I pray that one day, I get a chance to play there.

“I don’t have a favourite team I want to play for, but any club, even if it's Chelsea or Arsenal.

"The team I like is Arsenal, so imagine me playing for them.”

Reports say Acquah is looking to move on from Torino this summer after being on the fringes for the most part of last season.

The Ghana international made 22 league appearances involving nine starts, his least number of starts for the club over three seasons.

He also scored once last term, twice as less as he did in 2016-17 and 2015-16.

A move to England will swell up the number of Ghanaian players in the country.

International team-mates Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Christian Atsu, Daniel Amartey, Andy Yiadom and Jeffrey Schlupp are among the current contingent.
