The vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, George Afriyie, has told Class Sports he is impressed with the type of training put in place to ensure that Ghana get a result in Sunday’s (November 13) World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
Physical instructor Jamie Lawrence, who served as a member of the side’s backroom staff at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, has been contracted to improve the team’s physical efforts against the Egyptians, a move the deputy FA boss expressed delight about.
“We know the North Africans play with a lot of intensity so the game can be very demanding. That is why we have decided to employ the services of Jamie to take the physical conditioning of our team to the next level and we are confident he will get our men to the standard required of a game of this magnitude”, Mr Afriyie said.
The Black Stars of Ghana will need a win to keep their hopes of making a fourth appearance at the World Cup alive.
