Agbeko fired up!

On April 23, 2011, the best form of boxing is expected to rock the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, USA, when two of Bantamweight’s finest, Joseph Agbeko and Abner Mares Martinez cross swords for the IBF Bantamweight unification title tournament final.

And ahead of the expected titanic clash, Agbeko, 30, with an impressive record of 28-2 (22Kos) and 25-year-old Olympian Marez, 21-0-1 (13KOS), appended their signatures to the fight contract in the US eight days ago.

Following the signing of the contract, a press conference was held where the combatants demonstrated their bragging rights. The winner of the clash will take on the winner of the Montiel-Donaire bout. The PRO of the IBF champ, Ebenezer Noye told Daily Guide Sports in a telephone interview that Agbeko is in the best of shapes to defeat his opponent to make his resume richer.

“He has stepped up his training having considered the strengths of his opponent and his quest to reign for a long time,” Noye said. Agbeko, nicknamed the ‘Fresh King Kong’ with a chieftaincy title ‘Torgbe Kaletor’, arrived home from the US a week ago, and he is expected to fly out of the country for the bout in two weeks’ time.
