Agbeko's fight cancelled again

The much-awaited and talked about boxing fight between Ghana's IBF Bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko and his opponent William Josue Gonzales that was originally scheduled for July 12, 2008, at the London 02 arena and postponed to August 2, at the Auditorium Juan Pachin Vicens, Ponce- Puerto Rico, has been called off yet again.

The OMP the PR Managers of Joseph Agbeko have confirmed this and added that the suspension of the bout has been necessitated this time because the Challenger, William Josue Gonzales, failed to turn up in Puerto Rico.

Mr. Ashigbey, the MD of OMP, added that the Champion was highly disappointed that once again he has missed an opportunity to defend his title.

But Joseph has assured Ghanaians that he is not perturbed and will not allow these seeming disappointments to be obstacles in his quest to follow in the steps of the Legendary Azuma Nelson and also claim a place in the Boxing Hall of Fame.

The IBF were also very disappointed by the turn of events and have assured the Champion that they will set a new date and a new opponent to fight Agbeko for the title very soon

The Fresh King Kong, speaking from Puerto Rico, where he is preparing to fly back to the USA, asked that Ghanaians should channel all their prayers they had for him behind Joshua 'The Hitter' Clottey, so that after tomorrow there will be two World Titles in Ghana.
