Cape Town -- Ghana striker Junior Agogo has revealed that the high altitude in Bloemfontein affected their play in the 3-2 win over Lesotho in the 2010 World Cup qualifier.

The Black Stars overcame the freezing weather and the high altitude on Sunday to dominate most of the game and provide proof of their potential with timely taken goals.

Agogo, who scored twice in the game, could have grabbed a hat-trick but fluffed a good scoring opportunity after being set up by Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.

Ghana raced into a 3-0 lead with Laryea Kingston getting the other but Lesotho rallied to pull two goals back late in the game, giving the west Africans some anxious moments.

Despite conceding two late goals Agogo, who plays for English side Nottingham Forest, was thrilled with the result. "We did what we had to do and came away with the three points at the end," said a satisfied Agogo after the match.

"I could have had a hat trick but I'll take the two. "We were already feeling the altitude in the first half but we just had to keep doing our best and hopefully our quality showed through.

"The boys are buzzing. We've been together for a while now so we know what is expected of each other and we know what needs to be done," Agogo added.

Ghana are now top of Group 5 with a maximum six points and will arrive in Gabon on Wednesday for their next game scheduled for next weekend.
