Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dispelled reports he picked up an injury during Udinese’s 1-1 draw with Chievo on Sunday.
The 23-year-old was replaced after 70 minutes in the Serie-A game played at the Friuli.
Udinese manager Andrea Stramaccioni later explained he took off the Ghanaian midfielder alongside Paraguayan Ivan Piris due to injuries.
Stramaccioni pointed to the duo’s involvement in midweek action for their countries during the international break.
But Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu insists he is fine and was only taken off because he was ‘tired’.
“I am fine,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I was only tired and nothing of an injury.”
Badu’s clarification hands Ghana a massive boost with some few months to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
The combative midfielder will be heavily relied upon by the Black Stars as they make their latest attempt to win their first African title since 1982.
