Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has picked Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko as favourites to win this season’s Ghana Premier League.

The Udinese player said that he had looked at the two teams closely, and he felt that they had the quality to annex the league crown at the end of the season.

Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko are tied on 26 points; two behind first round leaders Wa All Stars, but Aduana Stars are second based on their more superior goal difference. He was speaking in an interview on Accra-based Happy FM on Friday.

“I follow the Ghanaian league quite closely and so, I feel that either Aduana Stars or Asante Kotoko can win the league. Aduana seems to have a strong team that rarely loses players but rather adds to their numbers. Look at the acquisitions they have made and you can see that they have a good team. In addition to this, I feel close to them because I played in the Brong Ahafo Region and the team’s patron and I are namesakes. My reason for tipping Asante Kotoko is that I am a fan of the team, and I do want them to win the title. They have recovered well after a shaky start which really troubled even though I was away in Italy.”

Agyemang-Badu commended the media for helping to generate interest in this season’s league season and urged media houses to keep up the good work ahead of the second round which starts on June 26.
