After sealing a semi-final berth in the Normalization Committee Special Competition, head coach of Asante Kotoko C.K Akonnor has admitted his side is not playing flamboyant football at the moment but they are doing the most important thing in the game.

Asante Kotoko suffered before overcoming Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.

The story was the same at Dormaa yesterday despite taking the lead through Emmanuel Gyamfi, the home side responded quickly through Fatawu Abdul Rahman and pushed the Porcupines to their limit but couldn’t get the needed second goal to carry the day.

Speaking to the media after the game, Akonnor admitted his side is not playing attractive football at the moment but they are getting the results they want in those games.

He also expressed his disappointment in the performance of his team during the first half.

“The first half was not good. I was not too happy. The second half was better,” he said.

“At the time when we were playing bad, we scored. It’s a bit strange Aduana controlled the game in the first half, but we managed to score. It’s good.

‘It’s always like that when you are not playing good but you manage to score.

“At the moment, the way we are playing is not flamboyant, it’s not attractive but we are getting the results.

Asante Kotoko awaits the winner of Ashanti Gold and Eleven Wonders to know their semi-finals opponents.
