Kotoko coach C.K. Akonnor has charged his fringe strikers to take advantage of Songne Yacouba’s absence and prove their worth against Zesco United on Sunday.

The Burkinabe striker has been suspended for the game, leaving Akonnor with no option than to use any of his remaining four strikers.

And the gaffer believes that, despite sweating over the absence of Yacouba for the game, the remaining four players should take advantage to flourish.

“It’s a fact Yacouba is very instrumental in the way we approach the game and how we attack.

“But is a big advantage for those who have not been playing. They have to take the chance and show what they can do,” Akonnor charged.

“Whoever is given the chance should be able to fit in. If you are not able to take advantage, then it’s clear that you don’t fit in the kind of system we play,” he warned.

“They have all been here for a while. This is an opportunity for them to take advantage,” he emphasized.

Akonnor will have Obed Owusu, Frederick Boateng, Teguy and Fatawu Mohammed as the four strikers to choose from.
