Accra, Sept. 24, GNA - Akuafo Hall scored an impressive 202 points to win this year's University of Ghana Cowbell Inter-Hall Cross Country Race held at Legon's sports oval on Friday.
Legon Hall came second with 332 points followed by Commonwealth Hall who placed third with 336 points while Sarbah Hall took the fourth position with 466 points.
Volta Hall came first in the Ladies category with 34 points followed by Sarbah Hall in second position with 106 points with Akuafo Hall placing third with 122 points while Legon Hall took the fourth position with 196 points.
In the individual category race, Luke Danoma Batuang of Sarbah Hall clocked 44.20 minutes to become the new champion by running past over 100 contestants in the 10- kilometre race sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Limited.
Emmanuel Kyere of Commonwealth Hall followed in second position with a time of 45.20 minutes while Kwesi Osei Tutu of Akuafo Hall took the third position.
Phyllis Brantie of Legon Hall won the eight-kilometre Ladies event with a time of 39.59 minutes followed by Mariam Oparebea of Volta Hall at second position while Claudia Edison also of Volta Hall took the third position.
Professor Kwesi Yankah, Acting Pro Vice Chancellor of the University called on the students to combine their studies with an active interest in sports so that they will remain healthy at all times to achieve their academic laurels.
