Albert Adomah has set his team-mates the task of recording back-to-back wins as Aston Villa look to kickstart their season at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The winger bagged a brace in the 3-0 win at Barnsley last weekend and is desperate to add to the feel-good factor with consecutive league wins for this first time this season.
Villa are unbeaten in five Championship outings and are slowly starting to turnaround their season after a disappointing start.
And with a kind set of fixtures on the agenda, Adomah knows now is the time to kick on.
"Hopefully now we can get back-to-back wins. We’ve won our first away game and now we need to get it right again this weekend," Adomah said.
"Our aim was to get three points at Barnsley and we achieved that.
"It was one of our best performances of the season so far – especially away from home, where it’s more difficult. We deserved it.
"Even though we hadn’t been defeated in five games, we were still a bit disappointed coming into it. It was a bit mellow because the draws we’d been getting should have been wins. They’ve felt like losses.
"Last season was the same – draws felt like defeats. That reflects the expectation here and only wins matter"
Adomah took being left out of Steve Bruce's Aston Villa squad in his stride as his goals were the difference last time out.
The winger was omitted from the matchday 18 against Brentford, made an impressive cameo against Middlesbrough and announced his return to the starting line up with a two-goal starting role at Barnsley.
Bruce was pleased with the way Adomah refused to sulk and the winger himself admits he knew there was only one way to react.
"It’s always difficult for the manager when it comes to selection," said Adomah.
"It’s the way you deal with missing out that counts.
"I’ve been training hard, the manager picked me and I showed what I could do. Hopefully I can keep it up and carry on being selected.
"I was happy to score two goals against Barnsley and help the team."
