Fenerbahce's Ghanaian defender, Alexander Djiku, has lauded the club's new manager, Jose Mourinho, for his tactical acumen, stating that the team is working hard to adapt to his new game tactics and philosophy.

The 29-year-old Djiku, who joined the Istanbul-based club last summer, has been impressed with Mourinho's approach since his appointment. The defender had a stellar debut season, playing a crucial role in 36 games, scoring three goals, and providing two assists.

Jose Mourinho's arrival at Fenerbahce marks his first venture into Turkish football, further expanding his illustrious coaching career that has seen him manage clubs in Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain.

Fenerbahce's previous manager, Ismail Kartal, was relieved of his duties after the club narrowly missed out on the Turkish title to rivals Galatasaray by just three points.

Speaking to Fenerbahce TV, Djiku expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing preseason training.

"Our training is going well. We have a friendly match coming up, and it is approaching. We are increasing our level and rhythm. Last year, there was a good and quality team. Many players continue this year as well," Djiku told Fenerbahce TV.

“We are trying to understand and establish our coach's game tactics and philosophy. He is truly a great coach and tactician. He has won everything throughout his career and is a football legend. Benefiting from his experience makes us very happy," he added.
